This Oscar party wasn't like most Oscar parties. These clients didn't just invite friends over on Sunday night to watch the telecast but instead invited them to stay the weekend to watch back to back to back best picture nominees.
With most of their guest traveling a distance of 100 miles or more (with the greatest being from California to New York) we knew that this was like nothing we ever planned before. Since most guests would be staying for the entire weekend, we were charged with balencing the practical with the creative. How to turn a living room into a movie theater where the guests never have to leave?
The answer was clearly a popcorn machine, nachos, and theater sized boxes of candy for the theater experience and to bring the black tie to class up the whole weekend, we chose to serve champagne in glasses that sported homemade bow ties.
